In February he was diagnosed with aplastic anemia in Iashvili Clinic. His illness was assessed as heavy and he was flown to Israel for urgent stem cell transplantation.

Lika Kapanadze is one of the first beneficiaries of the fund. Lika is now 6 years old and she has been diagnosed with aplastic anemia for 2 years. Last year she had bone marrow transplantation surgery at Verona Clinic, Italy. Currently her condition is satisfactory. Treatment and monitoring are performed according to the recommendation of Onco-hematology department of the University Hospital of Verona at Iashvili clinic. Once in 6 months with the help of the fund, Lika will go to Verona for check-up. At this stage immunosuppressive therapy is underway.
