I personally knew majority of them and, believe me, it's very difficult to watch this. I see their faces almost every night in my dream and I wake up scared. Why am I telling you everything this? Two days ago one jurnalist called and asked for the help on Intenational Day of Oncology - to give oncologist contact number in order to give advice for the reader. When we finished speaking I realized what happens in our country about the oncology. You know that Dimitri Tsintsadze Foundation is helping only children with leukemia from 0 to 18 years of age.
Unfortunately, we do not help adults because of lack of money. Despite that we consult them and use our networking to help them. Talking to them is hard and difficult. The number of such people is 40-50 a week. I refuse to help them but I won’t destroy their dreams. However, such conversations kill me and make me feel guilty. Every normal person knows how the man feels like after the conversation. During these three years, despite the above-mentioned results of our foundation, the help of the Ministry of Health, the City Hall and other funds, the number of onco hematological diseases is increasing and more and more people suffer from this terrible illness. Whose fault is that? Largely ours! Why? I will tell you - because of our inactivity. My friends, colleagues and I have made many reportages about this issue. For example, cancer-causing material, such as asbestos.
According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, asbestos is the dangerous substance for human health, as it increases the risk of cancer. 53 countries have banned it, but tens of thousands of tons of asbestos are still imported in Georgia which is used for slates, people drink water from the pipelines made of asbestos. At this time, the government is silent, does not see anything and does not do anything. More than half a million motor vehicles have been registered in our capital Tbilisi. According to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia the air is polluted because of the so many transports which emit harmful substances. Most cars do not have a catalyst. Most of the car owners are using cheap asbestos brake pads, which are freely available on the market, including the largest number of municipal transport. The substances from the transport are concentrated mainly in the form of hare dust. The dust in Tbilisi exceeds the permissible norm three times. Sulfur levels in fuel are 60 times higher than in European countries. Pollutants are in the air from the car's outspent.
The municipal transport requires large brake pads and outspent is more. As a result of braking on every stop, people living in the area will breathe this contaminated dust that contains carcinogens and all those people are at risk of cancer. In addition, there is no state control, no laboratory of the carcinogenic substance at the customs, where the imported product is checked. Another bad factor is that in Tbilisi planting of greenery is almost not available. Together, we have turned our capital - Tbilisi into a slaughterhouse that will threaten everyone with a serious death, regardless of party, office and etc. We all are at risk of oncology disease. These huge amounts that our government spends on universal state health insurance, the Tbilisi City Hall on the healthcare program for the elderly people, our fund for our children, and other funds and organizations, are the billions of laris paid in vain. Our future, our existence on the planet Earth, depends on us.
Is it not better a dozen of companies to get bankrupt than our people to die? It's enough! Let's start fighting against all of this. Let's fight together!!!
1. To prohibit import of any products containing asbestos in Georgia. 2. Change all asbestos roof, drinking water asbestos pipes and replace them with other ecologically clean materials.. Strictly control the fuel quality and will not allow 60 times more sulfur and bulk fuel in Georgia. Stop import of low-quality oil products.
4. Tbilisi City Hall shall adopt a resolution on the urgent replacement of dangerous municipal transport with better buses. To prohibit the purchase of cheap brake pads. 5. Reforestation of trees from the forests on the territory of Georgia in Tbilisi. Plant as many trees and as quickly as possible to accumulate a large amount of oxygen in Tbilisi. 6. To purchase and import computer drip irrigation pipes to grow young seedlings. 7. Immediately introduce a Japanese model in the capital city which will unload the traffic in Tbilisi, the traffic will be reduced in the capital. 8. Do not allow any car without a catalyst and it should be strictly monitored. 9. To control all food products imported to Georgia and not allow food to get imported with dangerous substances. 10. Tbilisi City Hall must prohibit issuing construction permits in the greening zones of the city. To tighten the law on the cutting of trees and the wood cutter should be very strictly punished.
11. To train young oncohematoologists and create a molecular laboratory, transplantation center as soon as possible in Georgia, and if this is not possible, let citizens mobilize these funds for this center. If you love your country - georgia and your nation, if you love your family, your children and ourselves, we must act quickly! all should come together with this very responsible, serious problem if we want to defeat the cancer in our country. This is a plan to save our nation in order to prevent the oncological disaster, which has already begun a long time ago and nobody has done anything to eradicate it! Do not think that It's not our business! In actuallity, it is!
